| | The Town Of Sweetser has a long history of having a Town Marshal. The Town Of Sweetser is known for its laid back quiet small town atmosphere. This does not mean that the Sweetser Police Department is not prepared to handle crimes of all types. The officers of Sweetser have training requirements equal to departments the size of the Marion Police Department or even the Grant County Sheriff's Department. The officers of Sweetser enjoy serving the community and by doing so, only hope for a "thank you" from time to time. It is said that the general public does not care for police officers, and feel they are only out to write a ticket. For those individuals who feel this way, we at our department would remind you of this: Yes we are the last people you want to see with red and blue light on in your rearview mirror, but if someone was breaking into your house, or someone in your family was in need of help your idea of us goes from why are you here, to please get here faster. We as officers accept this responsibility, and will take the good with the bad.
